“I want, yes, I want it.”
In this age where being chill is the norm, these words seem hard to say.
Society trains you to be composed, mysterious, not to open your heart easily. You’ve heard that mystery sparks curiosity.
Society tells you to leave some blank space, to maintain distance, to be like the moon, always showing just one side of yourself – this is how you captivate people, how you make them obsessed.
They also say being too straightforward scares people away, being too enthusiastic seems cheap. They say your genuine feelings should be treasured like gems, not handed out like glass beads.
Surrounded by these voices, you too yearn to become that inscrutable “cool girl.” You begin to doubt your instincts, wondering if your impulse to open up is too childish, if your undisguised desire is destined to be dismissed.
But you find you can’t do it.
You were born with a passionate soul.
You care about others, can’t just think about yourself. You’re too easily moved, too quick to say “I like this.” Your emotions are too visible, your expectations too obvious, your refusals not decisive enough.
You will never achieve that worldly standard of “chill.”
But this isn’t the end of the world.
You look at yourself in the mirror, at the girl whose eyes sparkle with naked desire, whose passion burns like an uncontainable fire. You want to love, to be seen, to show the world your most authentic self.
So you no longer want to swallow the word “want”, you want to shout it out loud:
“Yes, I want, I care, I desire.”
How could such honest yearning be inferior to being chill?
Looking at your eyes, you suddenly realize you’re not wrong, you’re just different.
You love and hate fiercely, you’re willing to show your vulnerability, your universe contains not just yourself but room to see others.
When nonchalance becomes a universal pursuit, your courage and honesty become almost like superpowers, not flaws.
Perhaps you won’t attract those captivated by mystery, but you will meet souls who treasure sincerity.
Passion and authenticity are natural forces. When you no longer suppress yourself, you can more easily attract equally genuine souls. More importantly, you’ve liberated yourself from society’s expectations and self-doubt.
This is what’s truly precious.
Please keep being the person who dares to say “I want,” the one with light in her eyes.
